Default Choosing a PvE Profession for High End Players

So I recently want to start playing more high end PvE. Currently I have a warrior, Ranger, and monk. Obviously these profs' uses have been dwindling. It was suggested I make a sin, rit, or mes. Of these which is the best?
Many answers suggested I make a mesmer, sadly - that is my least favorite profession. I really just do not like playing as a mes. Can someone tell me what their uses are?

TL;DR
What is the best PvE profession?
Why are mesmers useful?
What are mesmers used for?

Mesmers= Keystone, Panic, Ineptitude /Illusion, FD, PI, Tease Resto

Necro is a better high end PvE profession everywhere but DoA. However, it requires proper execution of MoP.

EDIT: The only place Necros aren't seen is in Frostway (DoA), but in Trenchway you see Necros.

Sin if you want to tank or learn how to.
Mes if you want to be a spiker, pretty much everywhere atm.
Rit for non-sc Doa(Glaive+Frost) and SoS/EoE.

of what you have at the moment, id defo not go with monk. youl get bored and find it hard to complement your team because with the 7 heros these days youre pretty useless.
ranger can run a crapload of different fun builds, warriors are great in phys teams. make your pick.

if you decide to make a new character, id go with necro, they are so versatile, fun and overpowered, you won't get bored.

They do massive armor ignoring damage - the profession was almost completely changed from what it used to be (it used to do little damage and was pretty much only used for interrupts in PvE).

Still, if you don't like the profession for some reason, don't make it just because somebody else told you to.

If you're looking for speed clears, than assassins dominate the whole elite area and dungeon scene.

If you're playing balanced with/without a gimmick or heroes, than whatever profession you enjoy. Any player can be high end, it's not the profession that decides that.

years ago i never thought id like mesmer - these days my mesmers one of my main farming chrs and gd fun to use.
2-3 yrs ago you`d probably be lol`d at for being a mes or have a slightly hard time getting in a team - these days they are popular and usually welcome in most teams.
Best way is to look into all the high end stuff you want to do and look at all the team builds and see which of those professions suits you out of your 3 - if a lot has mes then go mes , same for rit .. sin will probably be in at top but sometimes if most ppl are as sin then theres an excess amount of sins that wont be needed if you follow.

I use my ranger for high end all the time and she works great. So it all depends on how you build your warrior, ranger and monk up. I think you can still do high end without problems with them.

Sin is my next favourite for high end gameplay. Like Braxton 619 said, lots of dps and loads of fun using the profession.

Rit is another a hot favourite of mine. I sometimes would even wear a rit build on my ranger in certain areas too.

Mesmer is also a great one. I just started one and she is in level 16 and already owning lots of creatures at level 20plus in Fractions.

Generally, unless if you're going for Dungeon Sinways, I wouldn't recommend going with an assassin. Assassin roles are best learned last in my opinion, as they are usually the hardest outta the run.

Honestly, I'd have to say start off with a 100b Warrior for FoWSC: Manlyspike, considering you want to get involved with the SC scene.

For FoWSC, your order of learning should be 100b>ua>eoe>mop>mt>t2>t1.

For UW: Terraway, it should be sos>esurge(or SS)>emo>t1>t2>LT>t3>t4.

For DoASC, you'll need a guild. You can't pug it and I have no idea how the glaive or frostway runs go, but DoASC is: recall/esurge>eoe/esurge>troller>ua>vor>emo>sliver>recall>trenchtank .

That covers the three "High End" areas. I'm fairly certain that's the easiest order of learning things, and you should probably start in FoWSC. Just my opinion though. If you have any questions, just send me a PM.

Your "opinion" does not matter in the Q&A forum, only what is the correct answer.

I would suggest checking out the Speed Clears section of PvX Wiki to get an idea of what roles are usually in the builds. You can also look in the guild recruitment section of Guru for SC guilds and check out what kinda of characters they require for the application process.
